HINDUSTAN VICHAR (Automobile News Section) - GUJARAT VINTAGE AND CLASSIC CAR CLUB
The Gujarat Vintage and Classic Car Club is an initiative of
various vintage and classic car owners and enthusiasts of Ahmedabad who,
started with the goal of organizing drives, trips and events for the members
and their cars on a local, national and international scale so that the members
have the motivation and encouragement to keep the cars in good running
condition and also to preserve Heritage.
Till Last year, there was no platform in Gujarat for car
owners to share their troubles and experiences, their hard earned knowledge and
their sources for the benefit of other vintage and classic car owners who might
need help in keeping their cars on the road. The club therefore plans to assist
owners of vintage and classic cars in the restoration, preservation and
enjoyment of their cars. It is the effort and goal of the club to get together
these people, to see that no owner of a vintage car is left without help, to
form a database of cars in the state, to form a database of experts who are
capable of maintaining and restoring these cars, to locate various sources for
spare parts, to help people overcome the various legal hurdles in import of
parts or registration and insurance of their vehicles, to help people get
involved in this wonderful hobby and to give the general public the thrill of
seeing these lovely pieces of heritage on the road. The Gujarat Vintage and
Classic Car Club also encourage its members to maintain the authenticity of
their vehicles. In the coming years, The Gujarat Vintage and Classic Car Club
plans to also permit membership of vintage and classic motorcycles and other
special vintage and classic road vehicles.
We have had 2 Events till date, One on April 2012 what an
Awareness Drive and then the Aman Aakash Heritage Car show in December. Both
were very successful with more than 50 cars in December.
This year now we are having 2 events lines up in the
Ahmedabad Heritage week which is between 19 – 25 Nov 2013.
First event is a Fellowship meet of GVCCC members “Club
Event” along with a group of Vintage and Classic car owners driving down all
the way from Mumbai and on a Tour to Rajasthan shall be coming to Ahmedabad on
the 20th Nov,ber 2013. We shall welcome them at the ‘AUTOWORLD’
museum of Shri Pranlal Bhogilal in Kathwada. Here we shall have lunch together and discuss
about the cars. They are arriving with around 18 exotic cars who shall have
completed their Rajasthan tour and narrate their stories till now.

Bhogilal is a connoisseur of vintage cars. He has converted his private
collection of vintage cars into a museum named Auto World Vintage Car Museum at
Dastan Farm House. The Museum has a collection of more than 100 cars. The cars
are amazing and lovely. One could find all the best cars of the world – Rolls
Royce, Bentley, Maybach, Jaguar, Cadillacs, Austin, Chrysler, Lincoln, Ford and
many many more.
Programme is as below:
· GVCCC members will reach AUTOWORLD latest by 10.30
a.m.
· Welcome
Mumbai Group at Autoworld, where we have arranged for a separate designated
parking area inside near the bungalow in a different area.
· We can then view Pranlal Bhogilal's Cars museum and
fellowship meet with the group and have a group photograph.
· We welcome
Media to come to cover the event and announce about
24th November the Sunday - GVCCC Ahmedabad Heritage Drive of which details will
be given then.
· Finally we can all disperse & conclude by
3 pm.
The second event shall be on the 24th November
2013, in Ahmedabad for celebration of the Ahmedabad Heritage week 19th to 25th,November
2013. This initiative of GVCCC shall be annually conducted and shall cover
driving through different Heritage monuments in the city to promote Ahmedabad
for the ‘World Heritage City. More details and route of this event shall be
given on the 20th November at Autoworld.
