Mumbai, 20 January 2014: The evening air of 30th January 2014 at High Street Phoenix will reverberate with the music of acclaimed musician Ravi Iyer’s band v- RAVI GUITAR FUSION, Sniti Mishra’s vocals and the soulful melody of American Saxophone, Clarinet & Bansuri player Dallas Smith’s musical creations as they take centrestage for High Street Phoenix’s popular weekly property Thursday Jam-Ups. Ravi Iyer is famous for his soulful compositions, all of which are based on Hindustani/Carnatic classical ragas with Ravi lending a contemporary touch to them via Rock/Jazz. v- RAVI GUITAR FUSION comprises the gifted Rupak Dhamankar on Tabla and Crosby Fernandes on Bass guitar along with Ravi.

The High Street Phoenix audience should watch out for loads of improvised interactions between Ravi Iyer’s v- RAVI GUITAR FUSION and his two guest artists with some interesting jugalbandis by the gifted coterie of musicians. 30th January will see Ravi Iyer perform few songs from his already released album "BENDS" (a one-take, completely live album) and few new unreleased compositions from his forthcoming album.  All the compositions and arrangements in BENDS have been initiated by Ravi himself with performances by international artists. If sources are to be believed, Ravi’s album "BENDS" has been nominated for the Best Fusion Album of the year at GIMA AWARDS 2013.

Coming to the guest artists for the 30th, Dallas Smith is an American Saxophone, Clarinet, Bhansuri player who is part of the Swedish fusion band "MYNTA". Sniti Mishra, one of the top contestants of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2010, is a very talented and a trained singer in Hindustani Classical vocals. Sniti will be accompanying Ravi on a Hindustani Classical bandish called "Yeri Aali Piya", re-arranged by the master guitarist in a contemporary form. The song will also be added in his forthcoming album.

Typically the sound and style of Ravi Iyer’s world fusion band v-RAVI GUITAR FUSION is based on a smooth blend  and influences of Hindustani/Carnatic classical music and Rock/Jazz styles of music. All this is translated through the custom VRAVI guitar where the guitar happens to be the protagonist of the act.
Expect some last minute surprises with all three talented musicians performing together, only at High Street Phoenix!
